DESIGN ARCHITECT
Position Overview
We’re seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Architect to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead the design and conceptual development of diverse projects, collaborating closely with clients, engineers, and construction teams to bring tailored solutions to life. The ideal candidate is passionate about design excellence, professional growth, and collaborative endeavors, and will have a background in community-based, faith-based, educational and residential project types.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts and detailed project documentation, taking projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to refine design ideas, ensuring alignment with project goals and client vision.
- Create compelling visual presentations, drawings, and renderings to communicate design intent effectively.
- Use industry-standard design software to produce design presentations and construction documents.
- Lead or participate in design reviews, incorporating feedback to refine and finalize project details.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards while aligning with the firm’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture from an accredited institution (professional degree).
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably within community-based, faith-based, educational and residential project types.
- Licensed Architect preferred, or in active pursuit of licensure.
- Proficiency in Revit, rendering software and Bluebeam required.
- Technical knowledge of Michigan Building Codes and specifications.
- Strong portfolio showcasing, design presentation and communication skills and project experience.
