Angling Road Residence

This walk-out ranch home was built in the 1960’s on an exquisite piece of property, but without much attention to detail or style.  The new owners saw unique potential in the non-descript interior, however, and turned to us to guide the makeover towards “soft-modern”.  The solution for creating a truly substantial change lay in the re-working of the existing stair.  Starting with a “U” stair, but with an angled opening, adds a bit of excitement at the entry that immediately directs the visitor to the living area.  Exploration of the possibility of continuing the angle to create a slice at the corner of the living room was enthusiastically received, but later ruled out due to budget restraints.  Re-working the kitchen/living area focuses on opening the spaces to each other and adding fine finishes with crisp details.  To connect the indoors with the incredible views of the property, windows in many spaces will be lowered to the floor.
