Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Floor Area: 6,200 SF New
The Living Well was conceived as a new church plant for the Reformed Church of America and an extension of the ministry of the Bridge Church in Portage, Michigan. The young church’s physical location was “revealed” when an existing RCA church in northwest Kalamazoo closed and gave the building to the new church. A major renovation followed.
The existing church was tired aesthetically, had a floor plan that included many small rooms, and insufficient space for gathering as a group on Sunday mornings. Removal of many of the walls from the existing building facilitated an opening-up of the plan, improved circulation, and created a generous gathering area outside the sanctuary doors. New finishes brought a refreshing change inside and out, and in no time, the church had a new look and a new name.
