New Residence

Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan

Floor Area: 3,900 sf new construction

Interested in exploring the possibility of a year-round residence for their lot on an active lake, these property owners brought a good deal of enthusiasm to the design process. Complicated site restrictions and excellent views helped inform the layout and style of the house, leading to minimal eave overhangs and strategic window locations. An interest in a bold, contemporary aesthetic opened the door to vivid siding materials, industrial-style detailing, and a strong connection to outdoor spaces.
