Wetland Retreat

Location:  Kalamazoo, Michigan

Floor Area:  3,500 SF New

With the keen eye of a clothing designer, and enthusiasm for well-crafted detail, the client for this project envisioned a house that would read as a collection of buildings positioned around a “motor-court”. A variety of authentic finishes, including over-grouted stone, board and batten siding, and cedar shakes, would add to the sense that the buildings had been constructed over time, reinforcing the client’s interest in a farmhouse vernacular.
